I Thought I Was Editing a Manuscript... It Escalated Quickly.

When I first started putting Never Alone together, I thought I knew exactly what it was going to be. I couldn't have been more wrong.
My original intention was simply to preserve a collection of trance channelled messages received over many years through private sittings, church services and spiritual development circles. I wanted to honour those communications by editing them for grammar, punctuation and readability while preserving the integrity, voice and essence of each original message.
That, I thought, would be enough.
Then something unexpected happened.
As I worked my way through the transcripts, I found myself wanting to write a reflection after each message. It certainly wasn't part of the original plan. In fact, I questioned whether I should include them at all. After all, these weren't my words - they belonged to the communicators who had shared them through trance.
Looking back, I can't help but smile. Was I gently nudged by my own spirit team? Divinely inspired by Spirit? Or was it a little of both? Whatever the source, I'm incredibly grateful I listened, because that one unexpected idea changed the entire direction of the book.
The more I reflected on each message, the more I realised I wasn't taking anything away from them. If anything, I was helping to uncover the layers within them. Themes began to emerge that I hadn't noticed before. Connections revealed themselves between messages received years apart. What had once seemed like individual communications gradually became chapters in one much larger conversation.
It was as though the book had been patiently waiting for me to see it.
One message would introduce an idea, only for another, received years later, to expand upon it. Questions raised in one chapter seemed to be answered in another. Although these communications were received over many years and in a variety of settings, I was struck by the remarkable consistency of their wisdom. Time and again, the communicators returned to the same timeless truths, each offering another piece of a much larger picture.
I began recognising a beautiful thread running through the entire collection.
Another unexpected delight has been revisiting the question-and-answer forums that followed some of the trance addresses. Members of the development circles were invited to ask whatever was on their minds, and the communicators responded with extraordinary generosity, wisdom and, quite often, humour. Those spontaneous conversations bring another dimension to the book, allowing readers to witness genuine exchanges about life, death, healing, purpose, mediumship and the nature of the soul.
They're fascinating.
That one unexpected decision transformed the entire book.
What was once a collection of transcripts has become a guided journey... one that invites readers not only to read the messages, but to pause, contemplate them, and perhaps discover something of themselves within their pages.
Today, Never Alone stands at 254 pages, and it's almost ready.
It's been an absolute joy to watch this project evolve into something far richer than I ever imagined when I opened that very first transcript. Every page has reminded me why these messages deserved to be preserved... not simply as historical records, but as living wisdom that continues to encourage, comfort and inspire.
There are still a few final touches before I send it off for publication, but the finish line is finally in sight.
And the journey doesn't end there.
I'm already well underway with Volume Two, Ever Guided: Messages from Beyond the Veil, which continues this extraordinary work with another collection of trance channelled communications. While each book stands comfortably on its own, together they reveal an even broader tapestry of spiritual wisdom, encouragement and exploration.
To be honest...
I don't think I set out to write one book... I think I accidentally started a series.
And I couldn't be happier about it.
I honestly can't wait to share Never Alone with you and continue the journey with Ever Guided.
Stay tuned... Never Alone is almost ready to find its way into your hands. 📖✨
